As we previously mentioned, Netflix has started posting monthly ISP rankings for each ISP's real movie-streaming speed. This is great because ISPs will often inflate their score by bursting the first few megabytes of data, tricking the net speed test sites into thinking they go that fast all the time and tricking consumers into using an ISP that streams movies slower. Using this you can see the major ISP's real average streaming speed for long periods of time:

Given our personal experiences with various ISPs while changing apartments during college, we're surprised at how low AT&T U-Verse ranks, and how high Cox and Time Warner rank. Perhaps the latter two's abysmal Customer Service has made their internet speed slower...
