This is a great deal for the 2013 season, and definitely beats the Game Pass + Unblock-Us method below (until next year).

We’re previously suggested that people use MediaHint to get around country restrictions on Netflix, since it’s the easiest/free solution that just plugs into your browser and lets you immediate watch what you want. Now, Unblock-Us is vying for you to replace free services with theirs for $4.99, by announcing that they now support NFL Game Pass.

What is Game Pass?

Game Pass is a service from the NFL to watch American Football games while overseas – where the sport is obviously less popular, and thus offered at a reduced rate. Americans have often said that the service would be perfect for them, allowing them to watch a whole season, or just a single team, online for a reduced cost over services like Direct-TV or cable’s NFL coverage. It’s not for everyone, but for someone looking for a solution to watch live sports, Game Pass for $149.99 for their team’s season, or $209.97 for the whole season, (also $79.99 monthly/$24.99 weekly), plus $4.99 per month for Unblock-Us, this is one of the first options ever available to watch live sports after cutting the cord.
This is surely just another step in the path of making cord-cutting truly ubiquitous, but the addition of even one option for live sports is a step in the right direction.
