There was a great little documentary posted in /r/documentaries yesterday about someone in the Netherlands purposefully getting a bait phone stolen, and then tracking the person that stole it using Android-level tracking software. It turns out that unlike iPhones, Androids only reset the user-side of the phone when you do a reset, so the tracking software stays on it letting you record audio, take pictures, and track the GPS.
Note: They used this app – Cerberus – which is free on the Google Play store. I just installed it, and you probably should too.
